What's that Oil all about.

Natural oils aren’t just tasty additions to our food; they’re packed with nutrients that boost health, fight inflammation, and support your body’s natural defences. Here’s a closer look:

Coconut Oil

Known for its medium-chain fatty acids (MCTs), coconut oil supports brain, skin and digestive health. One MCT, lauric acid, acts as a natural antibacterial and antifungal, helping to manage inflammatory skin conditions like eczema. MCTs are also great for energy and have fat-burning properties that aid in weight management. Let's not forget MCT's brain-boosting benefits. Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are absorbed quickly and used as a direct energy source, including for the brain, which may improve mental clarity, focus, and overall cognitive function.

Pumpkin Seed Oil

A zinc powerhouse, pumpkin seed oil is especially valuable for immune support, wound healing, and prostate health. Zinc deficiencies are common, particularly in the elderly, so incorporating this oil can help boost immunity and resilience.

Sesame Oil

High in iron and a great choice for vegans and vegetarians, sesame oil also provides essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These support heart health and are critical for cellular function. I high recommend this cold pressed sesame oil.

High Oleic Sunflower Oil

Want to look after your heart? Check out high oleic sunflower oil. It is rich in monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids, high oleic sunflower oil is linked to a lower risk of heart disease. It’s also an excellent source of magnesium, which is essential for nerve function and over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body.

Ghee

Ghee is clarified butter, prominent in Indian cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine. It is packed with vitamins A, D, and E, as well as butyric acid, which soothes gut inflammation and promotes digestion. Look out for Grass-fed ghee as it has higher levels of beneficial nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

Walnut Oil

If you are looking for a little extra brain fuel, walnut oil is your guy! Walnut oil is loaded with alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and essential fatty acids, which not only boost memory and mood but also support clear thinking. Plus, it’s a friend to your heart, helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Packed with polyunsaturated fats, walnut oil delivers a dose of copper, magnesium, and folate—all crucial for keeping your mind sharp and your body energised. It's like adding a boost of brain food to every meal, with a splash of delicious nutty flavour.

Each oil has unique benefits, so why not experiment with them to elevate your wellness game?

Oh, one more thing before you go,  if possible, pick cold press oils because less heat has been applied during the extraction processes, meaning the nutrients are maintained. Cold press oils should not be re-heated so keep these beauties for salad dressings and for finishing dishes.
